Wall Sconce

On this sconce the pattern is the light itself. The cylindrical brass body is pierced from end to end, the holes graded from the centre outward to build a soft ombré field. At its heart sits a hand-drawn medallion — large, fluid, drawn from the shared vocabulary of Moroccan and Ottoman piercing. Lit, the two layers separate: the dotted field leaves a soft, speckled texture on the wall while the medallion reads crisp and whole.

The body is open at top and bottom. Light washes the wall in two beams, up and down, while the pierced face in between gives the room a filtered glow. This three-way behaviour turns the piece from a simple wall light into a source of texture.

The brass sheet is cut in one piece, each hole opened by hand, then rolled into the cylinder. Because the hole diameters are graded by hand, the ombré comes out slightly different — and particular — on every piece.

Antique brass patina is a special finish worked onto the metal: dark along the pierced edges, lighter across the open surfaces, deepening over the years.

At home in corridors, stairwells, hotel rooms, reception and restaurant walls, bedsides, hammam and spa areas. Set in a row, it builds a continuing rhythm of light along the wall.
