A single drop, fifty-three centimetres long, hangs from a straight arm reaching out of the wall. Almost pointed above, full below; the moment of a drop of water before it falls.
The whole body is perforated, but the pattern is not a motif. The holes are opened in varying diameters and scattered at random: sparse and small at the tip, growing denser and larger as they descend. The eye looks for a repeat in that distribution and does not find one — which is why the surface reads as moving rather than still.
The light passes through these holes and lays hundreds of separate specks across the wall. The specks vary in size as the holes do; what appears is not an ordered shadow pattern but a field of light scattered like rain. The lamp itself stays dark; it is the wall that lights up.
The mounting is deliberately plain: a straight arm from the wall and a cross pin through which the drop hangs. No ornament, no bracket, no clamp — all attention stays on the body.
The antique brass finish is a patina applied to the metal; it stays dark at the edges of the holes and light across the surface. It deepens with time and gives the piece a character of its own over the years.
It is used in restaurants, hotel lobbies, corridors, seating corners and beside beds; set in a row it builds a continuous field of light along a wall.
Each piece is perforated one at a time in our workshop. Size, hole distribution, finish and light arrangement vary with the order.
