A lantern sconce with a metal body and glass panels. The lantern is the oldest form of wall light that gives light on four sides rather than one; the glass panels spread it sideways, so the wall carries not a single cone but an even brightness.

The glass does not hide the lamp but takes the hardness out of it. Unlit, the glass faces still catch light — by day the sconce is simply an object on the wall.

The metal body is made for hard use, in our own workshop in Turkey. The joints are soldered and the glass panels are set individually with beading.

It suits doorways, corridors, stairwell walls, terraces and garden walls. Placed symmetrically either side of a front door it balances the elevation; set at even intervals along a long wall it describes the path.

The E14 lamp holder takes widely available bulbs. Bulb not included.

Available made to measure in other sizes and colours. Handmade in Istanbul.
