Wall Sconce

A curved arm reaches out from the wall and holds a slender cylinder. One gesture, one line — nothing added. Cast caps crown the body above and below, closing on a small drop finial; between them a fluted surface breaks the light into vertical strands. Unlit it reads as a quiet silhouette; lit, it throws ribbed light through the flutes. Used in pairs it frames an entrance symmetrically; repeated along a corridor it sets a rhythm.

Body and arm are metal, carrying an antique brass patina worked into the metal itself rather than paint. No two pieces read the same — one warm gold, the next a darker bronze. That variation is the point.

Acrylic, not glass. The diffuser is acrylic by deliberate choice: it does not break or splinter; it weighs about half a glass cylinder of the same size, putting no strain on the arm or wall fixing; the acrylic we use is UV-stable, optical grade, with none of the yellowing seen in cheap plexiglass; and it transmits light better than glass, the fluting spreading it without a harsh hotspot. The flutes are formed in the material itself, not a coating.

Dimensions: overall height 35 cm, diffuser diameter Ø8 cm. Round wall plate, fits over a standard back box.

Wiring: E27 lampholder, 60 W maximum (LED recommended). Bulb not included. Hard-wired, mounts with two screws. Electrical connection should be made by a qualified person.

Made for indoor use: living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, stairwells, beside a bathroom mirror, hotel rooms, restaurant walls. The same fixture is also made in black (outdoor, aluminium).

Care: wipe with a damp cloth. No abrasives, steel wool or solvents — solvents attack acrylic. The antique brass finish deepens with time; it is not to be polished.
