Chandelier

Nine upright cylinders set around a circle. Each stands as its own column, separated by slim brass rods, closed beneath by a flat perforated plate.

The cylinder walls are pierced end to end with vine and palmette motifs — dense enough that the metal reads as weave rather than sheet. Light leaves in two directions: sideways through the columns, downward through the plate. Lit, the nearby walls carry both textures at once.

Seen from below, the cylinders form a scalloped crown.

Antique brass patina. Each cylinder is pierced separately by hand, then set into the ring.

Seating nine separate cylinders at equal spacing on one circle is the hardest part of the assembly: let a single cylinder shift a few degrees and the crown reads crooked from below. The circle is marked from a template first, then every cylinder soldered individually.

The antique brass surface is not a plating but a patina worked into the metal, and it darkens over time.
