The diamond silhouette is built from four panels, each pierced by hand. The whole surface — from the shoulder to the point — is covered in a vine pattern, and the large medallions set between the vines are made up of thousands of tiny dots.

The two textures pass light differently. The vine leaves a fine, curling weave on the wall; the medallions open as spreading rings. This is not a fitting that lights a room so much as one that clothes it in pattern.

The dotted medallions are the most laborious part of pierced work. Every dot is opened separately and the spacing between them held by hand; let the spacing drift and the pattern reads wavy from below. It is the single most time-consuming stage on a body like this.

The four panels are pierced separately, then joined, and the seams along the shoulder line are trued by hand.

Ø60 cm is the standard size. Larger or smaller is made to suit the proportion of the room.

Antique brass — a patina worked into the metal, not a plating. Pierced and assembled by hand in our workshop.
