A single-piece pierced metal pendant carrying the onion form of the classical Moroccan lantern exactly. Ø50 cm wide and, with its chain, 100 cm tall.

The body is worked with a dense texture of thousands of tiny triangular perforations. That the holes are triangular is not incidental: a round hole leaves a round patch on the floor, while a triangle, with light breaking off its edges, leaves a sharper, star-like trace. Moroccan lanterns have made that choice for the same reason for centuries.

Lit, it scatters a pattern of light across the whole room as though stars had been strewn through it; from directly below it reads as a rose window opening outward from its centre. The small dome and teardrop finial beneath complete the lantern.

Being a single piece, it carries none of the seams a panelled lantern does — the pattern runs unbroken.
