Chandelier

A diamond cage assembled from brass rods, each opening filled with a bevelled flat glass panel. A small brass ball marks every joint. The cage itself is the pattern — no piercing required.

Because the glass is clear, the candle lamps stay visible. The bevelled edges catch those flames and repeat them across every panel; lit, the lantern reads less as a single source than as a cluster of flames reflecting one another.

Finely pierced brass finials cap it above and below — the only soft line against the geometry.

Ø40 cm, approximately 65 cm tall. Chain length made to the room. Also produced as a wall sconce.

A bevel is the edge of the glass ground back at a set angle. That angle refracts the light and lays a fine separation of colour along the edge — plain-cut glass does none of this. All four edges of every panel are ground separately.

Because the glass is clear, the choice of lamp is visible: a filament or candle-form bulb suits this lantern best.

The antique brass surface is not a plating but a patina worked into the metal. Bulb not included. Available made to measure in other sizes and colours. Made in our own Istanbul workshop since 1984.
