A wide, shallow bowl cut by hand from a single brass sheet, 90 cm across, suspended on four decorative brass rods.

Rumi and palmette fretwork covers the whole surface, sending light in both directions at once: the lamps inside wash the room below in a soft glow while the perforations throw a broad lace of shadow across the ceiling and walls. A tapered cone and turned finial close the underside.

It comes into its own under domes and arches, and because the bowl is shallow it never blocks the sightline across a room.

Colour: Antique brass patina Size: Ø90 cm

Working from a single sheet is a real constraint at this size: a Ø90 cm bowl made in sections would carry seams that interrupt the pattern. From one sheet the carving runs unbroken — but one mistake costs the whole sheet.

The finish is antique brass — a patina worked into the metal rather than a plating, and it darkens over time.

Bulbs not included. The length of the suspension rods is set to the ceiling height. Size and colour can be changed per project. Made in our own Istanbul workshop since 1984.
