Section

Wall Sconce, Outdoor

The Ottoman and Seljuk star is the most repeated shape in that geometry: an eight- or twelve-point star opening equally from a centre. The same motif is pierced into the body of this sconce, and at night it throws that same star onto the wall.

Outdoors the effect works differently from indoors. By day nothing shows; the sconce is simply an object on the wall in antique brass. In the evening, when the lamp comes on, the motif appears and travels across the façade. The piece does two separate jobs across a single day.

The body is made for exterior conditions, with closed edges and soldered joints. Two finishes are offered: antique brass and black. Brass holds its own against stone and timber, black reads more strongly on pale render.

It suits villa entrances, garden walls, terraces, balconies and courtyards. Placed symmetrically either side of a front door it balances the façade.

Takes an E27 lamp holder; bulb not included. Available made to measure in other sizes and colours. Made in our own Istanbul workshop since 1984.
