Section

Candle Holder

A slim black frame, four faces of clear glass, a pyramid roof and a round carrying ring at its apex. Nothing extra: the lantern is simply what it is. Proportion does the work instead of ornament — the contrast between the thinness of the frame and the width of the glass leaves the candle flame to carry the piece.

The body is cut from metal profile and welded, the corners trued by hand, each pane seated individually. The base is solid; the candle sits directly on the metal floor so wax cannot run out. The front face opens on a hinge, which makes placing and changing a candle easy.

Two sizes are produced, and they are made to go together: • Large: 18 × 18 cm, body height 45 cm, 52 cm overall including the handle • Small: 12 × 12 cm, body height 32 cm, 38 cm overall including the handle

Use them as a pair side by side or singly. Simply state which size — or both — when ordering.

Colour: Black. A custom-mixed paint finish, not a plating; the surface stays matte and even and will not flake over time.

Suits a console, a fireside, the centre of a dining table, a stair landing or an entrance hall; outdoors, a covered terrace, veranda or garden table. The ring on top lets it be carried by hand or hung where needed.
