Wall Sconce

Here the pattern is not merely cut — it is raised. Every motif on the cylindrical body has its edges pressed outward in a die, and only then are the openings pierced one by one. The surface stops being flat perforated sheet and takes on a three-dimensional texture you can feel under a finger. Passing beneath these raised lines, the light carries the motif's own shadow with it, so the pattern thrown on the wall is not a single layer but shadowed and deep.

Above and below sits hammered brass: a pointed onion dome at the crown, and beneath, a swollen bowl covered in the same hammer marks, finished with a pointed finial. The hammering catches light in scatter, setting a soft, matte counterpoint to the crispness of the pierced body.

The lantern hangs by a chain from a hand-bent curved arm. The arm is anchored to the wall by two separate hammered rosettes and holds the lantern 31 cm clear, where the body stands free and the light reaches both wall and floor.

Antique brass patina is a special finish worked onto the metal: dark inside the embossed lines, lighter on the raised crests. On an embossed surface the effect is far more pronounced, and it deepens over the years.

At home in hotel entrances and corridors, restaurant façades, beside doors, on garden and courtyard walls, in wide halls and arched niches. At 68 cm it works alone or in pairs.
