A cylindrical body rising on a chalice foot, crowned with an onion dome and a slender finial. The whole body is pierced by hand; the interlacing scrolls, palmettes and rumî motifs are worked one at a time. The dome and the foot are left solid and textured under the hammer instead, with rows of beaded ornament struck along their edges.

When the light inside is on, the pattern falls across the wall, the floor and the ceiling, and the entire surface of the body turns into a source of ornament. Unlit, the piece reads less as a light fitting than as an object standing on its own.

Dimensions: 60 cm high, body diameter Ø30 cm, base diameter Ø16 cm. Dome and finial height 12 cm. Single light source. The dome opens on a hinge, so changing the bulb is simple.

Colour: Antique Brass. A hand-applied finish with real depth that darkens in the hollows of the hammered surface and lifts on the peaks and around the pierced edges — so although the piece is a single colour, the surface keeps shifting under the light.

Outdoors it suits a terrace, veranda, garden path, poolside or entrance landing; indoors a console, a fireside, the head of a staircase or a wide window ledge. Grouped in twos or threes at different heights, the effect is stronger.
