Table Lamp

The cube is the hardest form in lighting: all six faces are visible and none may be left empty. On this lamp each of the six is cut separately and pierced end to end. The corners are closed with a concealed joint, so the pattern appears to run uninterrupted from one face to the next.

The pattern is dense; the metal left between the openings is a fine net. Lit, that net stays dark and the light leaves through the holes — what stands on the table is not a box but a block woven out of light.

The real effect is around it. Because all six faces give light, the shadow pattern falls on the table, the wall and the ceiling at once. A small lamp covers several times its own volume.

Antique brass patina is a special finish worked onto the metal: dark along the pierced edges, lighter across the open surfaces, deepening over the years.

At home on side tables and consoles, bedside tables, in hotel rooms and receptions, on restaurant tables, library shelves and inside display cabinets.
