Strato takes the stance of old station and harbour lanterns and gives it a colour. The body is brass, its panels light-passing acrylic; the pyramid roof above and the finial below are red. That one colour turns a lantern that would otherwise read as entirely classical into something else.

The red is not a plating but a special-order paint — worked into the metal, it does not peel over the years. It can be made in another colour on request; the brass of the body works with any of them.

The panels are acrylic, not glass. Acrylic does not break; it carries no risk in transport, at installation, or swinging from a high ceiling. It also spreads light more softly than glass: the panel glows evenly end to end and the bulb is not seen from any angle.

The chain is made to length. It works alone under a low ceiling and in rows under a high one.

At home over kitchen islands, café and bistro counters, in entrance halls, children's rooms, terraces and under eaves, along hotel corridors.

Made one at a time in our workshop. Size, colour and light layout change to order.
