A pendant worked with Ottoman motifs in detailed brasswork. Brass is the material of Ottoman lighting — it can be hammered, it can be carved, and lit it gives a golden tone. No other metal offers all three.

The patterns on the body are worked by hand. The brass sheet is cut, the motifs are opened, and then every edge is trued individually. That trueing step is what lets the light pass cleanly through the pattern; skip it and the shadow on the wall comes out blurred.

Glass or a clear material is set behind the motifs to take the hardness out of the lamp. What results is a golden, diffused brightness.

The finish is antique brass — a patina worked into the metal rather than a plating, and it darkens over time.

It suits hotel lobbies, fine restaurants, large living rooms and dining rooms. Against dark walls the golden tone gives its strongest contrast.

Bulb not included. Chain length set on request. Available made to measure in other sizes and colours. Handmade in Istanbul since 1984.
