A parasol lowered over the table.

The ceiling piece of the series. The pleated parasol is antique brass outside and mirror inside: most of the light reaching the table arrives off that mirrored face rather than straight from the bulb. Over a dining table it gives a soft but full light that is easy on faces.

Two things set it apart from the table and floor lamps. It carries four candle arms, because a ceiling fitting has a wider floor to cover. And its gallery is different: in place of the ring chain, a pierced balustrade band — a narrow crown above, and around the rim a wide band of beading and turned bars. Lit, that band writes a circle of light across the ceiling.

It hangs on a chain with a matching canopy and fits a standard ceiling box.

Dimensions: 40 cm diameter, 55 cm high including chain and canopy. Suited to a dining table, a kitchen island, an entrance hall or a study, with ceilings of 2.6–3.2 m.

Made to order. Chain length, diameter, colour and quantity change on request; metal and electrical fittings are specified per order.

The rest of the series: a table lamp and a floor lamp. All three can share a room.
