Section

Chandelier

A seventy-centimetre brass ring, hundreds of glass rods standing upright around it, six bulbs inside. The drum is a simple form; what carries it is the proportion and the way the glass behaves with light.

The rods wrap the whole circumference without a break. Each stands vertically, held top and bottom by a brass collar. Lit from within, every rod becomes a line of its own — the curtain is not one surface but hundreds of threads of light side by side. Move around it and a different set of rods catches fire; the fixture stays still, its appearance does not.

A second, smaller ring sits below. It braces the structure and softens the edge of the light falling through. Above, a four-armed cross frame takes four steel cables that distribute the load evenly. The central chain and its fluted brass sphere are the only ornament the suspension allows itself.

The underside is open, so light reaches the table directly, while the light that spreads outward is filtered through glass — bright enough over a dining table, never glaring, and warm against the walls.

WHERE IT WORKS Designed for dining tables, entrance halls, living rooms, hotel lobbies, cafés and restaurants. Hang 80–90 cm above a round dining table; in an entrance hall leave at least 220 cm of clearance from the floor.

CARE Wipe the brass with a dry or lightly damp soft cloth. Clean the glass rods in place with a soft brush or microfibre cloth. No abrasive cleaners, polish or metal brightener. The patina deepens over time; this is the material ageing, not a defect.

MADE Handmade in our own workshop in Istanbul. Available as a bespoke order in the diameter, height, finish and socket count you require — Ø50 cm, Ø90 cm and larger are possible.
