A pendant built as a brass cage. A cage is a different thing from a cast or single-piece body: each rod is bent individually, the crossings are soldered and every joint is trued by hand. What is made is not a body but a structure.
That structure does not hold the light in, it lets it through. Unlit, you read the shadow of the cage itself; lit, the light escaping between the rods falls onto wall and ceiling as fine lines. That texture of lines across a whole room is why caged chandeliers have been chosen for centuries.
The proportions come from the Ottoman and Moroccan tradition but are set out with contemporary restraint — there is no excess ornament. It belongs as readily in a plainly furnished room as in a classical one.
The surface is gold-toned brass, hand-finished, and it finds its own tone with time.
It suits hotel lobbies, restaurants, dining rooms and entrance corridors.
Bulb not included. Chain length set on request. Available made to measure in other sizes and colours. Made in our own Istanbul workshop since 1984.
