Filigree means drawing metal into wire and weaving it into pattern — one of the most laborious techniques in Moroccan and Anatolian craft. Every strand is bent by hand and every crossing soldered; a single body takes days to complete.

On this chandelier the filigree is built into a dome. The dome is the oldest geometry for gathering light downward; the filigree then filters it like a cage. Working together, the two both focus the light and pattern it.

What results is a piece that gives enough light to serve the area below while wrapping the rest of the room in pattern. Most decorative chandeliers manage only one of those.

The finish is antique brass — a patina worked into the metal rather than a plating, and it darkens over time. The patina works into the gaps between the filigree strands too, which adds depth to the pattern.

Every piece is made individually, and the density of the filigree varies from one to the next.

It suits restaurants, boutique hotels, high-end living rooms and dining areas.
