Filigree means drawing metal into wire and weaving it into pattern — not casting, not cutting, but bending and soldering each strand by hand. The body of this chandelier is built that way, and the gaps between the strands let the light through as fine lines.

Copper and bronze-toned metal is darker and redder than the yellow of brass. Lit, that tone throws a warm, almost orange shadow onto the wall — a different character from brass, and a better match for dark timber, stone and earth-toned interiors.

Because every strand in filigree work passes through the hand, no two pieces are identical; the density of the pattern varies slightly from body to body.

It suits hotel lobbies, restaurants, dining rooms and living rooms. The shadow play reads most clearly on a dark wall with the main light off.

Bulb not included. Chain length set on request. Available made to measure in other sizes and colours. Handmade in Istanbul since 1984.
