Chandelier

The Elara head is turned from a single piece of brass: a hive-shaped body widening slightly downward, wrapped in fine flutes from end to end. The flutes are not cut in one pass but step by step — each ring taken off with its own cut. That is why the surface glints in bands under the light.

A small brass sphere sits above the head and a horizontally flattened oval of opal glass below it. The proportion between the sphere and the hive is the signature of the series; from below the piece reads like a drop.

The light sits inside the glass. Opal does not pass light straight through; it scatters it inside and gives it out evenly, so the bulb is never visible from any angle and never glares. The brass head itself stays unlit, a dark silhouette above the glass.

The drop is made with textile cable and a brass rod, set to your ceiling height.

Colour: Antique brass, hand-applied; it darkens in the grooves of the flutes and lifts on their crests.

Three heads descend from a single circular brass canopy at different heights. Sized for a round dining table, an entrance hall or a small landing.
