This sconce is not a rectangle but a triangle. The body starts at the wall, opens forward and tapers to a point as it descends — like a prism. The form sends the light down and to the sides; almost none escapes upward.

A single vertical mullion divides the face in two. Lit, it stays as a dark line with the two sides glowing; the sconce stops being a flat panel of light and becomes a two-winged form.

The opal panels do not show the bulb. The light leaves at an even, unglaring brightness — beside a door, at the head of a step, in a narrow passage, it does not disturb.

Because the body is cast aluminium it does not rust and is untouched by sea air. The antique bronze is not a plating but a special-order paint prepared for outdoor conditions.

At home at villa and hotel entrances, on garden and terrace walls, under eaves, around pools, at garage and service entrances. It sits easily on a narrow band of wall.

Made one at a time in our workshop. Size, colour and light layout change to order.
